Petr Laul (Piano )
Petr Laul graduated from the Specialized Secondary Music Lyceum at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and then completed his studies and its postgraduate at the Conservatory, where he studied in the class of A. Sandler. He is a laureate of international piano competitions, including the competition in Bremen (Germany, 1997) and the A. N. Scriabin Competition (Russia, 2003). He is an Honorary Member of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society.
He maintains an active solo career, performing in the finest concert halls throughout Russia and abroad, and has appeared at major festivals in France, Ireland, Switzerland, Monaco, as well as in Russia at events such as "Stars of the White Nights," "Faces of Contemporary Pianism," "Arts Square," and "Silver Lyre." He regularly collaborates with Russia's leading orchestras and conductors.
A dedicated chamber musician, he has performed with such distinguished artists as I. Gringolts, M. Vengerov, V. Tretyakov, G. Murzha, A. Baeva, G. Kazazyan, S. Dogadin, P. Milyukov, N. Borisoglebsky, O. Volkova, A. Knyazev, B. Andrianov, and S. Nakaryakov.
Laul's major projects include a five concert cycle "Three Centuries of the Piano Sonata" (2007–2008), a seven concert cycle of Beethoven's 32 sonatas (2015), a monograph on the same subject (2021), a six concert cycle of Scriabin's complete piano works (2021–2022), and a multi concert performance of all Shostakovich's piano music (2025–2026).
Pyotr Laul’s professional achievements include radio broadcasts in Russia, France, and Germany, as well as numerous recordings featuring works by Scriabin and chamber music by Brahms, Schumann, and Stravinsky.
He currently serves as a professor in the Department of Specialized Piano at the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
